Lubing a Max IV throttle cable for cold weather...

The throttle cable on our Max IV is heated and works fine. I did notice the cable will freeze up a few minutes after the engine is turned off. Once the cable warms up again it works good, but doesn't quite "feel" normal. It lags a bit.
My question is... Is there a lube that can be used that might reduce or eliminate this freeze-up? I've never lubed any cables before so any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Be careful what lube to use. Some may freeze up so that's no good. I personally use antifreeze in my choke and throttle cables for the winter. It works great and has a lubricating property as well.

Still doesn't freeze. I had no issues and never flushed it out. I'll refill them when I do pre-winter/post-Busco maintainence.

Otay, what's an easy way to squirt antifreeze down a cable? Do I need to remove the cable from the machine? I hope not though. I'm thinking a kids squirt gun. Fill it up and put the nozzle on the cable end a squeeze the trigger a few times. Toss the toy afterwards. What fun!

I've used antifreeze for years and find it gets sticky with age. I've changed to flushing the water out with isopropal alcohol( isoheat) is pure and has proven to be the best. Disconnect the throttle cable at the engine end and slip a piece of 5/16 fuel hose over the threaded end and clamp it. Pour about a tablespoon of ISO on the hose and force it through with compressesd air. 20 lbs is enough. Cover the lever end with a rag if you don't want water ect all over. This is the best thing I've ever used for cold weather operation.

I did think of alcohol but though antifreeze would better. Thanks for the info.
