    Thermoplastic Sheeting

There are so many different kinds of thermoplastic sheets. What kind of sheet is best for heating and forming?

wheeler, when i made my enclosed canopy for my trike, i used polycarbonate. it's clear, won't snap like plexiglass and comes different thicknesses. also comes in abrasion resistant. got mine from mcmaster carr co. you can soften it for shaping with a heatgun or over the stove burners. works good. johnboy va.

wheeler, it depends on what your making. they have from 1/8'' thick to 2'' thick. 12 x 12 inch. up to 48 x 96 inch. panels. i believe i got 2 ft. x 4 ft. sent u.p.s. and maybe 4 x4 ft. can go u.p.s. i was able to form 3/16 '' thick pretty easily. sometimes without heating it. lowes sells poly sheets under the brand name tufflex i think. just make sure it's not plexiglass. mcmaster carr no. is 404 346 7000. are you making a enclosure ? johnboy va.
