    axle bearing install

hey friends, when installing the bearing in the bearing flanges on the max 2 or others i know you have to grind that little pin flush in order for it to fit. what's the purpose of that pin ? i assume also if it's being installed in a one piece cast sq. flange it has to be ground also. correct ? thanks john boy va.

You are correct, it should be removed. Just pull it out with a pair of diagonal cutters.

The little pin lines up with a hole in cast iron flanges to keep the outer race from spinning in the housing. By the way,I seen your max in the video, looks great.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.
