Certificate of Orgin needed for title!

Does any one know if I can get a duplicate Manufactures Certificate of Orgin issued to me. I bought this from a friend that bought it from friend and some where along the way the MCO got lost and I need one to register it here in NM. Any ideas? This is for 1994 Max IV!

THATS A TOUGH ONE. I'm in az and i had a mso but still had to jump through the hoops. they probably will issue a new vin # and make you pay the tax on it because obviously tax was never paid. the tax could be for the year it was bought or the year they give you a new vin. bassed on any listing that they find, when i did mine finally, it was 16 years later and they had no listing for a 1994 which is what i have, so they pulled a number out of the air and i paid it. 68 dollars. AWESOME

I know RI helped me get at least a letter that worked well enough to get a title in CA. I would see if Mudd ox/Max may still have the info to help with that.

Thank for the info! I am still trying to figure this out I am not sure MudOx would give me that information cause they just told me I needed a bill of sale. Well that did not work out for me as NM requires the title or MCO to be in hand to register it.

I think you can get around that by telling them you built it, worth a try, ask them what you need to do to register a vehicle that you built.
