I searched, but I couldn't find a concise answer.
Went for a ride yesterday, and ended up breaking a primary chain. Did I read somewhere that the axle chains are #50 but the primaries are a different size? 1997 max IV

If your talking about the Chain on the Jack shaft I am sure it is #60
I have a 94 Max IV and all mine are #50
After I posted I thought back and I think he could have #50 but I am sure thy put #60 on in the later builds.
I'll dig in to it later, see if there's something stamped on the side of the chain. After the day I had yesterday with it, I don't even want to look at it right now lol.
Max IV's don't have jack shafts, the M II and Buffalo Truck do.
My M IV is a 2005 and has 530 (same as 50, but of oring style).
I'd think comparing the chains might reveal the size (I'm thinking its 50).
Stand for the Flag. Kneel for the Cross.
I can relate to the day I had with it. Its kind of a love/hate thing when working on these machines. LOL
