Rather unusual question, but what steel is the T20 input shaft made of?
I intend to buy another used shaft, cut the clutch-end off and have it welded to the shaft in our T20 to extend it's length...

There are two retainer clips, one at each end. The one at the T20 is meant to be removable, the other is not (but still could pop off if the cotter pin comes off.)
Perhaps the removable pin popped...
