Thanks for the kind words AG, I appreciate them! Caterpillar has a great cut off switch with a detachable key. It's a bit pricy but heavy enough for any application.

several different ways to do this but always place the switch on the negative cable and not the positive and there will be no sparks to worry about
I have done lots of work in that area and was advised by the locals to steer clear of the place. Bear in mind I have no actual experience with the place but that the local opinion of the place is...
having never worked on another I can't compare but my Max 4 seems easy enough
I got a replacement at a lawn mower repair shop. It screwed right on but I have no idea what type of threads (metric or American or maybe ?) the cap has. I don't think the shipping would be all that...
Get some buddies with SXS's to ride with you. You'll get stuck short, quick, fast and in a hurry. Bottoming out is my biggest problem next to hanging up on a stump now and then.
If it's near enough go check it out. It may be a real bargain.............or junk.
I would think the stainless is harder and would cause a higher wear rate on the other components in the drive train. All of which are harder to replace. The stainless would be tougher and if you...
I was getting Diesel this morning here at Homestead Florida and an Argo with a spray rig and a little tower on it pulled up to the fuel pump (on a trailer of course). It had tracks and 8 wheels but...
Heck yeah, everybody has a favorite, Ringo was mine. And you're right, George's talent was really not appreciated. I'd hated to have lived in McCartney's and Lennon's shadow myself.
HP-you read my mind. That is exactly what I was thinking.
well down here, nobody seems to care. I actually tried to register the Max (I was told it had to be to ride on federal land) but they didn't know what it was and said that if nobody hassled me don't...
Mike-you've done a hell of a job here! A lot of work for one guy to take on for sure. No telling how many 6x's have been dug out from heaven only knows where due to this site. I side with your...
Works for me every time. I do take a torch and a brazing rod and put some bronze on the end of the blunt punch, cushions the blow a lot and doesn't let the axle get beat up as much.
Great job Mike! Until I ran across this site AATV's were just a memory for me. Hopefully I'll be around to see the 20th anniversary.
I tell you, they're tough people that can make the strangest things work out.
Love to help but I have a 4, I can sure appreciate the getting old thing. I don't seem to have the enthusiasm to work on all this stuff like I used too. But at least I have not lost the urge to ride...
man, you couldn't ship that thing to the US for $1500, I'd get one if true. Silver, get your wife to read that stuff and let us know.
I don't have an 8 wheeler but I believe anything is capable of turning over. And yes, if everybody had leaned one way, it would've swamped and maybe sank. When I'm in my Max 4 and need to turn while...
Thanks TBone, it is a hoot to drive and will go anywhere. It is amphibious but I don't float it anymore due to it being a fairly rare vehicle and the difficulty recovering it if it sank. It is like...
