    Big Max????

So my Friends dad has a mid 80's 6X6 that he calls a big max. My question is, can anyone tell me much about this particular 6X6. I'm semi familure with the max(s) but don't know it all. (just looking for general info, not technical. I know motors pretty well)

    Specs that I was told.

42 hp two stroke side by side motor (german name???)
    2 seater
    borg warner T-20
been sitting, needs chains and bearings.

he's asking 800. I can get him down cause i know what he paid, and he has nothing into it.

ANY info on this would be helpful.

    such as...is it a max II, or ??????? the other max i have is a 70s max with a 4-stroke Tecomsha 14hp.

so i'm new to two stroke 6X6's

did any of this make sense???? lol thanks....and yes I did search.......(some)

    Thanks again.

I have a Big Max - was made by RI in the mid-late 70's I thought. They usually had a 440 JLO or Kawasaki 2 stroke stock. Mine has a Rotax 503 that someone transplanted in to it before I bought it.

Thanks for the info. Thats the kind of stuff I'm Looking for. They could have been made in the 70's, all this info is word of mouth from last owner to present owner so who really knows. That's why i'm asking......

    Keep the replys coming.

When they came out with the Big Max in 1972 the only difference is they changed from #40 to #50 chain & put in a Twin Cylinder 400 JLO. That's what a Big Max was originally. It was a wheelie machine. That's what sold Whipper.
