Idler/Tension Sprocket Bearings

I just wanted to make this thread as an informative POST to help others.

Last quote from the factory for a idler sprocket was $31.
They don't sell the bearings alone so you are stuck buying a whole new sprocket.

I couldn't find a supplier with a matching stock extended inner race.

So here's what I ordered:

Bearing part # 2780T39 McMaster-Carr
Washer part #3088a512 McMaster-Carr

All you need to do is press the old bearing out, clean the sprocket and press the new bearing in! The washers simply replace the extended inner race so you add one to each side of the sprocket.

There are already five billion washers on the sprocket bolt/axle anyways so what's adding two more going to hurt?

McMaster-Carr also sells the sproket you need with bearing all together. have them in my max IV and have had no trouble with them to date.

Please post the part # or link so others can easily find it. I haven't need a new sprocket yet so I haven't looked.

Just to add a little to this thread, I need to replace most of the idler sprockets on my Max IV as well. I have a couple with replaceable bearings and they are G&G Omaha part number G150-17 and the bearing number is G&G Omaha 8267-1/2. I also have four that are sealed but I do not have them out of the machine currently.

The dimensions of the sprockets with bearings are ~3-3/4" outside diameter, 15 teeth, #50, 1/2" bore with an overall width of ~5/8" (using a tape measure not a set of calipers).

Just looking online I believe these are the same sprockets for a little less money than the factory charges: 50 CHAIN IDLER SPROCKET 17 TEETH
