New to me '79 Max II w/ a 440 Kawasaki

Hello and thanks in advance for any time and help,I have a Max II with the kawi 440 engine,I am having a hard start issue if it sits (needs a shot of gas into the carb to start),so I pulled the intake off to check the reeds and found none, sooooo I'm guessing they are a different typ then I thought, any ideas or an engine picture would be appreciated, thanks again.

Adding a $10 primer bulb inline would be a quick and effective solution.

That Engine dose Not use Reeds.
Your fuel pump is weak or draining back when it sits.

Yes A Primer bulb will help you out for sure. And it is cheaper than a carb/fuel pump rebuild !
