    Max ll Predator 22hp transplant

I couldn't resist buying the HF Predator 22hp engine with a 25% off coupon. The Kaw 440 2 stroke is fast but not ideal for my uses and the 28hp air cooled turbo diesel would break parts. So far so good...its quiet, fuel efficient, strong and torquey.

How did you manage that? All my 25% off coupons specifically say "Not valid on Predator, Badlands, jacks, storage cabinets, compressors, etc. etc." The computer at the store won't even accept them. Best I was able to do was the $599 coupon in the July catalog.

I used the same engine in my MAX II. It works perfect. It does require an additional hot wire for the solinods on the carbs. It works as another kill switch kind of. Did you take off the muffler and go with a straight pipe? If so how much louder is that?

The crank case hose will dump oil into the canister instead of the carb causing the engine to smok on long inclines/declines/angles. For the exhaust, i cut the tubes from the muffler and fabricated a piece, then welded them. I asked the store manager for a friends and family coupon.

The muffler is from an 80's Honda Shadow or Sabre. I removed some of the baffling so its deep and throaty.
