    1993 Max IV with a 20 kohler?

How difficult would it be to switch out the kohler for a 29hp kawasaki?

    Would this engine work?

I am pretty sure that engine is an option for the MaxIV. So I would say it should be pretty easy. You can probably go online and find the mounting bolts specs. to make sure they match. The crankshaft dia. would need to be the same to use your clutch. Another problem maybe be exhaust, possible throttle cable length/or fuel line length may need to be adjusted. But It should be fairly easy, just may need more parts.

Replacing the missing radiator with a Kaw one would not be cheap. The drive clutch, throttle cable, belt, muffler, engine cover, fuel tank, and the table the engine sits on are different. The fan, belt, pulley, air cleaner, and fuel pump are also missing on that motor. The crank is shorter, but should work ok. It can be done, but it may get expensive.
