Hi Jim,
Bunch of questions for you; Did you grind the weld on both sides of the wheel flange? Did you mark the flange and axle so that it was indexed the same when welding back on? Any special...
Hi Noel,
I would love to do an upgrade on this unit. However, the funds are not available right now. If I can get it running reliably for a while then I might be able to justify, to the wife,...

Suggestion was to pop the pins out and then drive the machine to loosen the sprockets. I believe I will try...
The pins are finally coming out!! :D
Beating them with a drift pin, grinding them off flush the sprocket, then driving them the rest of the way through worked.

I believe someone replaced the fuel cap and filler tube on my 80's 8x8 I/C. The fuel cap does not screw on but more or less pushes on. When the argo is on a side hill with the fuel cap on the down...
New bearings have been orderd through a supplier we have at work, 9 bucks each, we'll see how good they are when they show up. HC206-20 is the part number I used, 1 1/4" ID, 62mm OD with eccentric...

Thought I'd post a closing comment to this thread.
Thanks to everyone for the input. I did a lot of google searches, watched a bunch of youtube and decided an 8x8 was the way to go. By chance a...
I found the outer flanges and bearings at BuyArgo.com is America's Argo ATV Super Store - Grand Junction, Colorado

While looking over my new (to me) argo I noticed some little metal balls sitting in the bottom of the tub. I recognized these as ball bearings and assumed, being that the argo is 30+ years old, that...
gimmegreens,
Thanks for the reply! I've been searching the gallery. Its pretty awesome to see what people can build and from some of the videos the exhausts sound pretty good.
I was hoping to...
I just bought a mid 80's argo 8x8 and need to do some work on it.
The muffler is rusted, has a small hole in it and is really LOUD. I don't think there is enough good metal to weld it and am...
Don,
Thanks for the invite! Please keep me in mind when you head to Harrisonburg. If I can get away from work I will make the trip up.
