Thanks Mike, it is a rear exit exhaust & I can see how climbing out of water would put it well under.
I assume the sparks are carbon deposits coming loose & the screen stops them, I've heard talk of...

Cheers Nubs, thanks very much. Are there any other modifications you've heard of that can lessen the chances of igniting vegetation we're driving through, I've not heard of healthy aatv's starting...
I've a 2008 max2 23hp Kohler with the rear exit exhaust.
Is there any info anyone can share about this exhaust setup & potential to ignite vegetation while driving. Maintenance of spark arresters,...
yHah,
That is so cool to see another repco! And that rotary sounds sweet.
I thought I saw orange under the drab dusty black gel coat on mine! I don't have a 75bhp rotary under mine to do 80kmh...
That's good mate, I'm not used to measuring in inches and fractions! They will be pretty straight forward for an experienced fabricator so you should be fine. Can't say I noticed any tapering on...
Hi Eldon, just wondering if you got the message I sent re. this thread?
Modified to take a different, thinner rim.
Most welcome Eldon, I've always got lots of help from the good folks on this site!
I got the axle extensions from our max distributor here in Oz and they'll bolt your rawhides straight on. Centering...
I have a max2 that I've used duals on until I fitted tracks last year. The axle extension is longer as you mention, closer to 10 inches but I'd have to brush off the spiders and measure them. I...
Got it and thanks for all the help! cheers Tim
Sage advice gentlemen.
I was just kidding on the hammer setting, although the angle and BFH will make me feel better as a last resort and upsizing was definitely on my mind.
Will anneal and...
It's bloody hard drilling, (excuse the Australian vernacular)
Does annealing make the metal easier to drill, Whipper?
And what's a good speed to drill with the sharpened masonary bit, Robbie?...
Thanks all, have just got a goodie bag from the tool shop, tungsten carbide dremel burrs (didnt think one would do it), set of masonary bitz to sharpen up and I been told to push hard, and some...
Couldn't move it so onto the drilling.
Hex key doesn't seem to want to be centre punched or drilled does it.
Apart from the little shard I was trying to grab the sheared tip doesn't protrude from...
Will give the heat and grab a shot but the little spike is really little and if I cant grab a seventh of a 5/32" will dremel it flat and try centre punching...here's hoping and thanks for your help :)
There's only a little spike above the top of the grubscrew so not too good for adhesion and the grubscrew is recessed in the sprocket tube so grinding will be pretty tricky too.
The heating sounds...
Thank you both, there's nothing above the the sprocket tube to work with unfortunately so the dremel before drilling would be the way forward at this stage and maybe an easy-out after that, havent...
While taking out my max2 axles to fit the bearing cages that come with the track kit, the last one (rear left), surprised me with the tip of my reasonable quality allen key snapping off in the...
Nice work and a great tale! I'm looking forward to hear how the trax go in the mud too.:top:
There's a few things involved in my preference and I haven't yet driven an argo so maybe I shouldn't even have an opinion?
I bought my max after being less than impressed with my dealings with the...
