Dave, so far I have no complaints. They work great in mud and seem to swim okay, well go straight that is. Turning is a bit a challenge in water. As far as the old Goodyear's, I still have all of...
What engine do you have? When you say it clicks but wont engage, where is the click coming from? Is the solenoid clicking and the starter motor not spinning? Or is the starter not engaging the ring...
A friend of mine just bought one to use on a long tail mud motor setup. Will be interesting to see how it works out. That's a lot of motor for the price!
John, glad to hear you got your throttle sorted out and it's working better for you.
Thanks Mike good to know. That's the great thing about those Vanguard twins, they leave a lot on the table. Little tweaking and tuning and you can really wake them up. Lot of guys around here are...
The old and new tires are both 21x11-8. There's only about 3/4" to 1" clearance between the lower body tube and the top of the middle/front tires. I didn't want to risk tires rubbing so just stayed...
John, we're is Northwestern IL. The charm of Iowa and Wisconsin with all the draw backs of Illinois.
Ordered new tires. Wanted to try the Argo style now offered by D&A Restorations but...
Thanks John, we got lucky finding this one.
Noel, really like the idea of an 18hp that seems like a great combo. Will most likely do that next winter. I love my Hustler but this Max is a better...
Bought a 1994 Max II with a Briggs 14hp twin. Was a 6 hour drive from home but from the pictures seemed to be worth the gamble. Was not disappointed. It's really clean and in great shape. One owner...
Alan, where in Illinois are you located? I'm in Rochelle. Have a bunch of stuff left over from my 980 rebuilt/repower. Including the stock shifter and control rod.
While researching engines for a...
That is very cool!! Thank you for doing what you do!
Question, what was the reason for cutting the tub in half?
Rowdy, look on this chart. Match up your belt and pulleys and see what the suggested center distance should be.

I saw those the other day as well. Sure look like they would perform well. Be interesting to see if anyone has tried them yet.
Rowdy, if you end up needing to make a custom throttle cable Venhill is the company I get all my cable parts from. They have high quality parts, good prices and fast shipping. Used them just recently...
What exactly did you change? Good to hear it's working better for you now!
Got everything fixed and made couple changes. Moved the controls over 1.5" to the right to have room for my foot. Made a new floorboard. The new laterals are a little thicker wall tube, original was...
Thanks for the tip, I will check out the Argo plugs.
Was spending some time on the Mud-ox site and saw they run an electric oil pump with the T-20 trans. I really like the idea of a cooler and filter. My question is does anyone have any info on the...
Tyson, I will try to help. An engine only needs 3 things to run, fuel-spark-compression. I always check in the order. Confirm you're getting gas and spark. Then do a compression check. If you have...
