Having problems with the charging system. I replaced the stock battery with a blue optium battery. It seems like when I run the winch it kills the battery but it never charges back up. I put a volt meter on the battery and at full rev about3600 rpm it had 14.5 volts. So the charging stem works. Is the battery to big or should I go back to a regular battery? Any ideas thanks Ty
My 93 magnum did the same thing when I tried the optima battery, it seemed to never recover completely. The stock rectifier charging system only puts out 15 amps if I am not mistaken, apparently not enough to recharge this kind of battery. My conquest with an altenator kit installed works just fine, it is 35 amp I believe. // RR
Any ideas on what battery to put in then? Standard or Deep cycle. how many cranking AMPs? Does anyone know the demensions of the battery or one from Oriely or Autozone? Thanks for the response Rapidroy.
