need opinions 6x6 project for 8x8 bottom end / frame and/or vaule?

I sold my last huslter 6x6 a few years ago , I liked it but decide it was just to small for me and sold it and just haven't been around since then.

I ran across a fairly cheap project 6x6 that within a few hours drive form me. the guy say the motor is locked up the chains are worn out , tub is good no leaks, all tires need to be replaced. My main interest where for some of the parts ie: transmission, rims, engine clutch and steering sticks to build a 8x8 (I can't afford new and can't find one used locally/in state) I am also in south Florida so I pretty much have to consider shipping for up north on most this stuff if I want a 8x8

my questions:
1) what are the remaining parts worth if I wanted to sell quickly as a whole unit ? ie: locked up engine, frame, tub bottom and top, sprockets ,axles

2) would it be reasonable to ask to trade remaining parts form #1 for a 8x8 rolling bottom end ? (frame, sprockets, axles, tires that hold air, etc...basically everything except the tubs, engine) that I can build off off , the 8x8 hustler frame would be my preference but for any would work.

If the hustler was too small that first gen attex will jot suit you at all. That machine has a baker hill tranny, not the t20 you read about so much on this site. As for rims and other parts for a build. It has throw away tires on it that need thrown away. there is nothing to salvage. Emergency dump value of the machine is probably around $75 to someone who knows what they are looking at. Driving for an 8x8 is a much better investment. I do see them for sale in the Carolina's very often. I don't usually check Florida's Craig's list so I couldn't tell you about down that far.

ya my old hustler carried four people but no cargo room is what I meant by to small , I was just looking at that one for parts but did think they had the T20 tranny (my main interest) mayeb I should just pass on this one then thanks

Drew is right about the value......I'd say if you wanted to hold onto it for a while you could get $2-300.....maybe.
Your best bet is to have one shipped to you, or make it a long weekend trip to get it yourself. If you buy through a reputable dealer, you may pay a few more dollars, but you will be sure not to get a trouble prone machine.
You could also consider a 6x6 and tow a trailer 4 - Wheel Amphibious Trailer or make your own.

yep you are talking a really long weekend for me to drive way up north just to get a frame and t20 ....... I just told the guy I was going to pass on that little attex since it had a different tranny that I was looking for

Your probably right about a amphibious trailer being the more practical way , years ago I know a guy up in Maryland (argo stuff) that had the trailers they worked great for carry extra decoys but I just don't think that is what I want I kind of have my mind set on a 8x8 ............ maybe something like whipper's spider or max springer with some 26s for extra floatation

Good choice to pass on a non-complete / project Attex. Hang in there, a larger machine will come up in time. I've always said its better to buy a fully operational machine as a base point, then build it from there. One of my friends recently picked up a 1998ish Max2 with a 18hp Briggs for $1000. Goldhunter 2 where are you down in S. Florida?

I am on the east coast (PSL) just above west palm beach area . I actual want a project something like that for basically a rolling frame and tranny to build aluminum tub off that platform and maybe try to buy one of whippers suspension systems at least that the plan.............. I have been waiting and watching for awhile one day I'll find that 8x8 down here....lol
