    18hp vanguard briggs alternator

    I installed a alternator on my briggs and it seems to be charging but the indicator light wont go off even with revs up ?

    did you put a volt meter on the battery to check voltage increase when reving up the motor? I have one on my bigfoot

    I put a multi meter on the battery and it read 12.3v and when I start it it reads 14.3v so I think its working but the light wont go out ? Or does it stay on ?

    it should go out it it hooked up correctly/

    Ya I hooked it up just like the alternator manual sayd to on argo adventure
