Trans

Larry, as i looked at the pictures on this machine that was what i was thinking but saw no pump. I haven't seen one of these machines before but that made me curious.

Riot, is there a hydraulic pump somewhere on the machine?

Lewis

Well to be honest I have no clue as to a hyd pump. I beleive that the trans or the piece driven from the engine is the hydraulic pump. Look at this picture of the steering levers, you will notice several hydraulic lines from a couple of valves.

I plan on removing the engine / trans cover screen and once I do I will be taking more pictures of the whole drive train.

Hey Riot,

Just looked at your pics...that is a cool looking machine. I am curious now also....looks like it would be light, and I like the seating arrangement. If you can add a little storage space, you are gonna have a mean machine!!

Well the seating has to change, I have a GF and her 4yo boy to take with me, so we need room for 3. There is room behind the seats on the screen to build storage.

Plan on adding volt meter, ammeter, hours, and oil temp gauges in due time.

Changing to LED lights to lessen load on electrical system and also be more resilient to H2O and muck n stuff.

After looking at the factory brochure that is pictured on this web site, I see it had a propeller for water so I may look into that too...who knows.

For now, tyres, tighten engine mounts....and go!

It looks like you have plenty of room axle to axle and at the top for tires, what is your distance from inside of the tire to the body?? If you are adding adapters, then that will give you more inside clearance for wider tires...

I've seen Amphimans, Muskateer. His has a different trans setup. Yours looks to be an updated version.

Ok I just pulled the seat and screen covering the "Magical" workings of the unit. I see no label or stamping indicating what brand of transmission it is.

Here look at this peculiar looking transmission setup, also the hydraulic lines are in need of replacement as they are cracking and some of the outer cover is peeled off.

My assistant Dustin is pointing at a reservoir of sorts that leads to the controls

Take note of the driven sprocket. Notice the hole in the body tub....I see that the outer portion of the axle is bolted to the body and that from what I see it can be pulled out of the body by unbolting after disconnecting the chain.

Here is my photo bucket album
riotwarrior/Muscateer - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Please help me in, I need to get the belt off from engine to trans and I am not certain as to how to do that. Can anyone suggest what I need do as the motor needs to be bolted down as it is missing a couple of bolts. I want to pull the engine, bolt it to the frame it sits on then install the fram with motor.

Thanks

Ok on the right side rear tyre, there is about 1 1/2" clearance from the inside edge near the top of the tyre to the side of the body tub. There is about 1/2" from the top of the tyre to the bottom of the ledge of the tub.

From the axle flange to the tub there is 8 1/4" clearance and from the center line of the axle to the tub over the tyre area is 11 1/2"

Axle CL to Axle is around 27 1/2 - 5/8 give or take that 1/8"

I just went up to the local "Golf Cart" repair man and he has a nice windshield and frame along with a roof that I can have for $50 bucks. I figure I can throw one of my plastic roof top cargo boxes up there to make for storage too. As well, he gave me a big muffler I may be able to use to quiet this monster down a bit and he has some bench seat cushions I can have "Gratis" Woot!

Tonight "Tom the Tyre guy" is in town from the lower mainland and I will discuss with him the tyres I have and see if he knows of some cheapos to get.

boncrshr (Scott) and I are in discussion about 6 tyres and wheels he has that I may get for a good price so that would be great. It is shipping that is killing me on that deal. I need to check into a friend who drives OTR and may be able to transport for me.

If the belt is a cvt type then you can spread the driven pulley on the trans and then the belt should loosen enough to come off.
