Rust is thy enemy

I'm still wrestling with tearing my $%#*$ Wedge apart. I knew that the axles/hubs were going to be tough but the wheels themselves are also proving to be a beating. Over the last few days I've gotten 2 of the old tire carcasses off. the lugnuts were rusted beyond use so I had to cut the wheels off. The third wheel proved to be rusted so badly that it fused to the hub. (see the pictures!)

I am desperately trying to save the hub (at this point).

If anyone has any ideas of how I might remove this I'd really like to hear them...otherwise it's back to the grind!

There is a rust removal method but you need to either put the whole axle in water or you maybe able to do it if you can get water to stay inside the rim/hub. Are any of those possible? Let me know and I can possible help with the rust removel method.

There's 2 out of 3 really nice ones in ny for sale.......
lotsa extra parts, a full jet pump system....a trans...or 2,,,,, hubs....... nos bearings.. axles. a drive unit...
one is darn near driveable too, needs cable adjustment,left side and a exhaust flex pipe.

Drill hole through hub and just into axle. Tap hole for grease fitting. Install grease fitting and pump grease into it. The pressure should push grease into any voids and will possibly expand the hub to pull it off. I would buy a slide hammer from Harbor Freight that will bolt to the 3 bolt hub so you can hammer it off once you get some grese into it.

I have the same problem, on a scrambler, the hubs are rusted to the axle and won't move...

I got the roll pins out using a home made press consisting of thick bar stock and a flywheel puller.

What worked for me was took a small bottle raped around and filled with apple cider viniger !!! The viniger eat the rust over night
