    True sppeed vs power conversation

So in looking around this forum there is little hard data on speed and performance with trolling motors and outboards on our machines. So, with that said. Today I got 1.1 mph with tires in high gear (the website says 3 mph). I got 2.2 mph with a 75# 24 volt MinnKota Trolling motor. I will be testing the same setup with a 30# 12 volt MinnKota later today.

If I do upgrade to an outboard I would want one with an internal gas tank. But with that said I sure enjoyed how quite the trolling motor was today.

It will be a while before my new Argo arrives, but I will have a full 9.9 hp outboard on it, and I will post the speed I get with it. Well, at least if I can be pried out of it long enough to post........

There is a sweet spot you must hit with the RPM to have the maximum speed or else too much can actually make you slower in water with tires.
