Hustler 2 stroke original exhaust setup

Today I disassembled the exhaust system on my Hustler 2 stroke. It appears I need to replace what looks like 3/4" asbestos rope heat insulation around the exhaust pipe where it goes through the plastic body. Also, it has 2 gaskets that appear to be maybe asbestos, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone gone done this path?

    Any help would be welcomed.

    Thanks,
    Roy

The rope heat insulation you described sounds like standard exhaust wrap for headers, google exhaust wrap and you should be able to find it no problem. I'm not sure about the gaskets though..

    Cool

the gaskets are like an asbestos material they are just to keep the heat off the body I may have them both but I think one's broken but you could still use it.. also have the stock two stroke muffler that goes under the body on right side between 2nd and 3rd tires
