    Max II axle question

Will 62mm bearings and 70mm bearings fit on the same axle? or do the different bearings require a different size axle?

the 62mm is the outside diameter of the bearings. As long as the 1.25" inside diameter is the same you're fine. If you want to upgrade to the newer 72mm outside diameter bearings, you'll need new bearing flanges, all of which are available from Buffalo Bearing. (716) 874-1720. Great folks to deal with there!

Thank you! It makes sense that the axle would be the same, but one never knows, sometimes if change one thing you have to change everything around it.

I have an older MaxII also and am wondering if it is really worth going to the 72mm bearings? Do you also have to drill new bolt holes on a lager diameter/different location for the new flanges? Do the 72mm bearing flanges fit into the same large hole as the original 62mm flange?

Are the 72 really that much better than the 62?
