i run half tracks on my max 2 highboy machine . i have always put them on the back 2 tires . was wondering if it would perform any different with them on the front 2 tires . on the back they are pushing the front tires . on the front they are pulling the back tires i may give it a try ! jboy va.
I think you are better off with the rear two tires turning the tracks. The front chain would wear out much quicker than the rears would. As you may have found over the years the front chains and sprockets on a Max2 seem to wear much quicker than the others. Besides that most of the weight is in the rear and middle which is a better place to have tracks driven from than the light end.
thanks for the replies...noel , i forgot about the weight issue . that sure makes the most sense . as i have mentioned before , for my use the half tracks work really well .i took some extra grousers i had and made a'' wrap around '' track for each front tire .it really added a lot of pulling power for the fronts . kind of like a grouser tire chain . just something fun and different....johnboy
