Hydrotraxx - best wheels and tires for tracks

Got my wheels and tracks pulled thinking I had a bearing going out and found out the wheels were cracking on on the four corners. I am going to replace all 6 tires and wheels while I have everything pulled apart. These things sat out in a rice farmers field for almost 10 years and I should have never put them on to begin with.

Any suggestions on the best wheels and tires to run with plastic tracks?

That stinks. Do you know what size wheels are on it right now? I'm not sure what size wheels Hydrotraxx used.

The tires are a Carslile track tire...I will have to get the size, but I think they are 25". The wheels are steel. I have heard that tracks are hard on wheels and bearings, but the buggy runs better across the marsh with tracks than 28" Outlaws we ran the first year. Keeps the buggy on top of the marsh grass.

According to their site: HydroTraxx Models/Accessories - Custom 6x6 Amphibious All Terrain Vehicles - Hydraulic Drive for Ultimate Durabality. it looks like they typically use 10" wheels with 22x11x10 Stryker tires (like you mentioned) when using tracks. Argo wheels are 9" and Mudd-Ox / Max wheels are offered in 8", 9" and 12". If you are not wanting to replace your tires as well then I don't know of any wheels from an ATV manufacturer, other than Hydrotraxx themselves, that would work. If you can verify the diameter of your wheels, that would be a good start.

I believe the rims are 4 lug so options should be plentiful. A stout wagon or solid dish wheel would probably be good.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
