I'm fairly new to the 6x6 world or aatvs, but have a solid understanding of mechanics. I have a late 90s model and the belt slips at times. It has an 18hp Vanguard. It drives just fine without slipping unless i come to a good size hill without speed. Watching videos on youtube, my machine should be able to climb the hills. Basically what I need to know is what is the width of a new belt? I know I should probably just get a new belt but Im just curious. Looking at the Larger clutch the belt at idle doesnt touch both sides of the clutch. There is a good 1/2inch gap from the belt to the other side of the clutch. Is this normal? I can upload pictures if necessary.
I believe the belt should be 1-3/16" wide. The belt should touch both sides of the driven clutch. Upload some pictures if you have them so we can make sure we are talking about the same thing.
