Sorry I changed jobs so I have been out over the last 2 months, but here is where I am at, just got a little fine tuning to do and once I get everything how I like it I will seal up the 2 halves and head for the water. I was wondering if anyone else has a delay in the driven clutch opening up?? It seems like I have the motor rapped out and I am hardley moving, but after a long open way it starts to speed up, not sure if this is normal. But you all like how it is looking.

There are different springs for different engines. It could be that your driven clutch is set up for a 2-stroke. I see you have a new Kohler in the machine. Did it originally come with a 2-stroke engine? You can pick up the right spring from RI and swap it out.
I'm doing that very thing at Ledges this year.

Wow, that is turning out nice. Great work.
I am using a comet 40 on my 16hp honda clone and it use to do the same thing. Then I reworked my thottle and it revs more and it seems to "shift" better. Might be a thing to check and make sure the throttle is opening up all the way.

You did a really great job. That's one good-looking Sportster. You may have to tinker with the spring & weights in the drive clutch or the spring tension in the driven clutch to get it to change at the proper speed. That looks like a Comet Duster on the engine, and they're real easy to tinker with.

Hey everyone sorry it has been so long but i do have some videos in action, sorry the quality is a little low they were taken with a cell phone. They progress is to see if it actually floats after the complete rebuild. The one with the donut was pretty cool on dry ground. I have had this thing up to 48 mph on the road(had my 4 wheeler next to me clocking it) which is pretty scary without a steering wheel the first few times. Once it get it going again (next weekend fixing the tranny mounting bolts) i will take some higher quality videos. Hope you enjoy.
Cool! What mods have you done to it? Bigger engine obviously, mine only does about 25mph. Green paint? They all came orange didn't they? I also didn't see the back seat. Was it removed or just poor quality cell phone video?
Yeah I am running a 22 hp Kohler twin with green spring in the clutch. Yeah they were all orange but I love the lime green look ( We own a paint and body shop so i can pretty much change it whenever). I still have to make the back seat just haven't got to it yet people ride on the fiberglass back there now. I got the luxury front drivers seat tilt, lumbar adjustment, arm rests i guess since i never ride in the back I keep forgetting how bumpy it actually is without a seat.
