    Belt Drag

I just put the engine back in my 93 Vanguard. In neutral the drive belt spins. Got the idle down as low as it can go and there is a gap between the belt and the side of the primary clutch. Any cure for this?

If belt is to tight it drags on the center of the drive clutch. Proper tension is to pinch the belt tight and pull away from the driven clutch. There should be 1/16 inch of clearance on center of drive clutch at least. Hope this helps.
