    Laterals... straight vs. bent

Hello. I've noticed a difference in the laterals. Some are straight up and some are
bent to the left side. I figure the "newer" models are bent but don't know when it was
    changed.
Do the bent ones flex enough to be a concern?
Do the bent ones interfere with your legs? It seems they might rub the right knee.
Can straight laterals be exchanged for bent? (Or vice-versa)

    Thank you.

Presumably you are talking about a MaxII?
They all came bent, but some people have bent them back to straight, or made new ones.
A MaxII is tight with 2 full sized males in it, and without the offset to the side, it would be near impossible to drive.

Yes, I am referring to the Max II. I didn't know they all came bent, with others straightening them out as needed. So, I just learned something. Thank you.
I am looking for a very good used Max to buy and am collecting information regarding both the II and IV.
I'm not too worried about elbow room... I'm barely 5"3'. My wife is 5'4". I figure we'll have enough cuddle space one one of these.
