i got smoked by a hemi

so there i was last weekend, cruising north on the 400 on my way home from NCT's house.a ram truck with a hemi pulls up along side of my ram magnum,so i put my foot in it a bit to gear this guy up.to my amazement he absolutely blows my doors off on a hill.and to top things off he is also pulling a fairly heavy tandem axle dump trailer.although it was empty it was still very impresive.when i say blown away i mean blown away.this hemi had rocket like take-off.

    i think i want one!

I'm blown away by the fact that there were two Dodges moving under their own power at the same time!

All kidding aside, it sounds like you haven't driven a Ford lately. Just about every vehicle on the road today is reliable, so it really comes down to comfort and handling. The new Ford trucks are the quietest, smoothest riding, most refined vehicle I've ever driven. At 70mph it's just like sitting on the sofa in your living room, relaxing and quiet with no road or wind noise. Take one for a test drive.... but not before you're ready to buy. You won't be able to get back in your Dodge.

OK, before this thread gets out of control with immature, little kid type comments like "my Ford is better than your Dodge, my Chevy is better than your Toyota, yadda yadda yadda" maybe we should save Mike the server space for helpful posts related to why we're all here, AATVs. Plott Hound was just making a point, and I don't think we need to get off on a tangent here.

Now, I'll reply to what Plott Hound posted. The Hemi is a very efficient engine and the power it makes per liter and fuel economy is impressive. If that's what you're going to buy for your next truck, that's your call and I hope you are very happy with it. It's YOUR choice, YOUR money, and YOUR truck and if you feel that you'll be pleased with it, that's all that matters. If others don't like it, that's too bad for them. End of story.

Around here buying a new Dodge upps your insurance payment. My dad is looking at trucks now, and his insurance agent said that if he bought a Dodge his payment would go up $40-50 a month, because apparently Dodge's are more expensive to repair than comparable trucks...

Hemi's do produce some nice torque numbers though....

Insurance Manager here told me that Dodges are the easiest to steal, so insurance costs more

I don't really care what anyone drives, as long as it's a Ford
