    Knobby tires in water

Just bought a '99 Argo vanguard. My first 6x6. Has a set of new knobby trail tires and tracks. We have a shallow lake nearby and I thought of using the Argo to sneak up on some bass. Curious if the knobby tires (w/o tracks) would provide enough propulsion of water to get around. if not I'll likely hang a small outboard off the rear. Saw 1.5 hp 4 stroke outboard for around $200 - which is cheaper than a set of paddle tires.

knobby tires will not swim at all, better off with the outboard but more than 1.5hp. there is a lot of drag on these machines. where in Maine are you, Up until 4 months ago I lived in the "county" presque Isle area. I am now in VA

Thanks for the info. Can you recommend an engine size?
