    Axel play?

    What needs replacing when the axel moves in and out about 1/4"?Bearings?

    Could be the bearings. If you're lucky, it's the bearing collar. See if that came loose.

    Also make sure that your bearing flanges are tight.

    Are the flanges the metal on the out side and inside which pass thru the body?
