what to do about the plastic skid plate on my scrambler

    what to do about the plastic skid plate on my scrambler

    the plastic skid plate on the bottom of my scrambler has seen better days. so can i just take it off. or is there some thing else that i can do. also if i get rid of the skid plate what is the best way to fill all the rivit holes that held it on. bruce dye

    My skid plate was also pretty much junk too. That plastic get real fragile with age. I tore mine off. The new ones didnt have it and the lower end seems alot thinner on them. They did have a u channel piece of metal that was under the machine, though.

    I haven't filled my holes yet but I think I was going to probably just put rivets back in. Make sure its a good grade marine rivet though. You could also use some sort of paint-able epoxy or any sort of body filler.

    u channel ? did that just run under the lowest spots like where the gears are at. the other thing is under then the axels i have not found any other rubber seals or silacone or thing to water proof it.

    I would go with larry on the holes and use marine grade pop rivets that seems like the most durable way to go about it
