What does it mean to "Subscribe" to a thread, and how do I do it?
Reason I ask is that there are some great referance threads here, but I can never find them when I want to. By "Subscribing" to them will that make it easier for me to find them again?

When you subscribe to them you will be notified if anybody response to the thread. It will go to a subscribed threads folder. So you could track it down. You can actually set that so every post you reply to goes to your subscribed threads folder. Go to you profile page(click on your name). On the top right there is settings(next to log out). In there you will see subscribed thread folder on the left. Scroll down further and there is a "forum setting" link near the bottom left. In there you can adjust your subscription settings. I prefer instantly using email but that is personal preference. You can also manually subscribe.
