Horsepower is a really cool thing! That beast looks like a lot of fun, and sounds even better!

70HP is in yet another completely different category. That is Stupid-out-of-control-wheelie-popping-just-point-and-shoot-Fun. A couple of small wings on the side of it and we could have been in the air.

I know it's been a long time since any updates on my project. Just wanted to post some pictures and include what was done to this hustler, because of the inspiration that I get from everyone sharing there idea's and there passion for this hobby. We are blessed to have this forum and I'm glad that my dad had two of these machines when we where kids.
This hustler 950 started out as just a side project that was going to be thrown together so I had something to ride whenever my blazer was not working and friends wanted to go ride. Now I think it's going to be a rescue vehicle to get the blazer back out of woods when it brakes down.
For the drivetrain it's got a comet duster drive clutch with 9 pucks to bring it into gear at 1500 RPM, going to the stock driven with a red spring. The trans was freshened up with new bands,16 tooth spackets welded on,and new diamond shifters.Down below is 36 tooth driven sprocket driving 26 tooth sprocket on the other axles. The axles are the stock lengths that has the bolt hole and added keyway. The axles have a 1 1/2" spacers to make room for the 25" rawhide III tires on matt's rims. The rollcage is 1 5/8 x .83 1430 chromoly with the wires for the lights and stereo running through it for a clean look.
The best part is the motor that put out over 50 horses and about the same torque. It's has electric fans for the oil cooler and air duct that pulls air from the outside vents, also one electric fan that pulls air from the rear floorboard that cool the trans, than pushes all the hot air out of the back. Up front it's got iequus Gauges to help keep watch on the motor, one for the alternator that is mounted on the clutch side facing the motor spinning the opposite drection, tach for the rpms, and one for the oil pressure with a warning light for low oil pressure.
This Huslter was alot of fun building and it still needs a little bit of fine tunning, however, I owe alot of thanks to my brother Scott for his help and his wife Lacey's understanding and most of all a big thank you to my beautiful wife Erin for putting up with me spending so much time and energy on this project. I am truly blessed to have someone that has given me so much understanding from the day I brought home something that looked like a beat up old bath tub.
So here's the pictures and hope y'all enjoy!

I love the cage on that thing.

Some people will still think it's a bath tub on wheels, but we all know better. Good job. Sounds like you did a lot of cool mods. Hope we get to see & hear it running soon.

Thanks for all the compliments. I really appreciate it and hope to go on a ride with y'all soon. When I get some video I'll post them too.

Jpswift1: I did end up with the 25" rawhideIII's, but my first choice was the interco vampire tires. It's to bad that's not happening. Thanks for the compliment!
