I am putting a 16hp single cylinder engine in and was wondering about clutch engagement. I have found a couple of clutches that are available but one is a 1700 engagement and the other is a 2100 engagement. What are the advantages/disadvantages to each? Which would be better for the engine?
I have a higher rpm engagement clutch on my quad and I dont like it very much. When I am trying to inch it around the garage or back out slowly, it jerks the quad a lot instead of starting smoothly and slowly. I think the higher rpm clutches are good for racing and off the line acceleration. A lower rpm clutch may be better for normal type driving. Hope this helps.
