    electrical issues

    a few strange anmomlies. when i wired my rc winch controller and my manual switch to the two terminals on the winch it got hot. also last year i bought myself a new bilge and wired it to a simple toggle and it too got hot. what gives?

    You will need to provide more information like a drawing so I can see whats going on. If you get heat, somehow you have power going to ground through the switch and not through the load. What winch are you using and what is the manual switch you are using (How many wires and where are they hooked?) What are you using for ground? Most machines do not have a good ground point, so I usually run a ground directly to the battery.

    An electrical relay would be good to used in both cases.
