About how much did they cost when they were new?
And about how many were produced?
Thanks,
Randy

Randy, in the eary 70's you could pick up a Attex 252 Crazy Colt for $995. The more expensive models, which only came with larger engines were priced up to $1,595 I believe. Just before Attex Inc. went under in the early 1980's they were selling for around $3900-$4200 depending on the engine and body configuration (450 or 500 Lil Truck, 500 Superchief, or 450 Tomahawk). As far as production numbers, Im not sure.......maybe Hydromike or Don can chime in on that one.

Thanks, I was just wondering.
I`m going to pick up a 440 Thunder Chief Saturday that AT3975 told me about, it was on craigslist
I`m not lookin foward to the drive though... 6 hours one way!
I`m not sure how to link to it (its on craigslist in the pittsburg area) but we agreed to $1500, is that a good price?
Thanks,
Randy
Randy, just copy and paste the link where you type your responses to each new message. I think this is it.

I would say its a fair price but you have to look at a lot of things.......
Take a look at this thread. It will help you out more.

I actually bid on the one on ebay in that thread but I stopped at $1865. I think whoever was bidding against me had his high bid set over $2000, and I wasn`t going to go that high.
The one you marked (yes that is the right one) seems to be in pretty good shape (talking to the owner) I does need 2 tires and rims to match the other 4 rawhides and the body has some scars, but he said that the bearings are good and tight and it runs really good, although it does need a starter.
He sent me a bunch more pics of it, and other than the crappy paint job, it doesn`t look all that bad.
I`m taking cash, so if it is in sad shape I`ll offer him less or drive 6 hours back home empty handed
I guess I`m looking for some advice and if $1500 seems good or bad?
Thanks,
Randy
Hey, Randy;
I was bidding on the Superchief on ebay too, but you and the other guy both outbid me. I don't know what the machine you're looking at is worth exactly, but generally the poly bodied machines (1976 and later) bring more money than the earlier models and a painted machine brings a little less than on original. Here's prices from 1971 and '72 for all the models. Hope it helps, and Merry Christmas.

(6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far
I see now that the lists may be too small for some of us (me and the rest of the old guys) to read on the thread, so I posted them in the gallery under Attex.

Don was kind enough to send them to me so I put them in the brochure/literature section as well. Here is a link to the Attex page: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/aatv-...877-attex.html
I'll also link them here. Click on the thumbnails to get a larger view:
Thanks Don!
