Did anyone happen to see that somebody was racing a Coot?! That big old 4 wheel drive machine sticks out like a sore thumb in a sea of 6 wheelers. It is at about 11 or 12 seconds into the video. Great vintage race footage.

You got to love those brave souls racing with no roll bar in close quarters racing. The coot definately sticks out

Never did any winter racing. Nice old footage. I can tell because some of the cars don't have roll bars. Those high mounds of snow sure make it impossible to shortrack.

Cool video! Thanks for putting it up, JBF. What a great variety of machines competing, too. I think the early racers may have been made of a little sterner stuff than we are now. I'd have been chicken to be racing with so many other crazies and no bars or belts. 'Sure looks fun though.

I am finally picking up my springer Racer tomorrow. Aluminum skin, tube frame, air shocks for springs and struts and simple swing axles. It has a 2 cylinder free air Sachs engine, Twin expansion chambers and 2 extraordinarily large Mikuni's. The T-20 has the reverse locked out and the laterals move only about an inch before hitting a pair of large rubber buffers when pulling back. i will try to post some photos this weekend.
