    Briggs & Stratten Smokin

I have a new Argo 6x6 with Briggs 18 hp. I purchased it in July 2012 and have always had a problem with the engine belching blue smoke when started especially when engine is hot. Also the motor backfires every time it is turned off. Dealer says this is normal for this motor. I say a new engine should not have these problems. Anyone else have these issues?

If the engine does not have a carb selanoid thing to reduce pressure when the key turns off it will backfire when shut off. Its the uncle buck feature of a Briggs. You may want to check and adjust your valves though. They don't hold speck well and need adjusted with regular maintenance. That may help with the smoke issue.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!
