Max II with Tecumseh oh160 Wiring Question

Hello. My Max II did not come with any wiring harness when I purchased it (it was actually used by the Army as a remote control vehicle). Anyway, I have most of the harness done, but there is one wire I do not understand. The wire outlined in red comes from the charging system, but it is shown going to the ignition switch with the value of M. I am guessing this means Magneto, but my ignition switch does not have a M, it has a Start, Accessory, Run and Battery. My switch is not one from a Max - it is genaric. Any ideas where this wire should go? Shouldn't it go to the Positive side of the battery?
    Thanks!

My OH160 is wired similarly. The wire "M" is grounded through the ignition to kill the engine when you shut off the key. I also put on a generic ignition switch w/out the "M" terminal. I added a toggle switch that closes the "M" wire to ground to shut off the engine. I'm not an "engine guy" so hopefully other members will chime in.

Hello budsinsk! Just went through a similiar problem with a project Max IV! ----Go back and click on "home" then click on "manuals" then click on "Max" and scroll down until you find the one for wiring diagram Max ll- Tecumseh. That should tell you what you need to know---Good Luck!

I would do what Dave did.In fact,I did do that. The big red "panic" button on Gizmo's dash does exactly that.Do not put +12VDC on that wire.

Thanks everyone. I have a question though.. How does the battery get charged? I assumed either the Red wire or the green wire was for the charging circuit. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

The red red wire, thru the fuse to term "R" on switch which appears to be connected to term "B" (with key"on"),thru the ammeter to the batt. That's your charging circuit.
