    trany noise

    On my 96 conquest in lowgear I have a constant reciprocating noise it like a knock almost.High gear and reverse normal trany hum.Any ideas is the trans coming out for a tear down ????? Oil is clean I had a noise sumilar before when the s3condary would touch the chain at full rpm.This noise starts at low rpm bwring crawling and continues.I can't see anything have driven it with firewall removed all looks ok.Any body hsve this before

    It sounds like a dinged or chipped tooth on the double gear or input shaft. I would take it apart and see. If it gets worse the$$ goes up. Gasket and seals only about $50 to. I have pulled the input shaft to inspect internally and that only destroys 1 seal.
