I have a 295 JLO Rockwell engine in my Attex and need help on no spark issue.
Just bought it last week, fly wheel nut was loose, so I removed fly wheel.
Cleaned up crank threads, cleaned and set points. Love the removable points cam.
Never seen that design before, makes it easy to set points.
Put it back together, had spark, lubed piston, shot of fuel and she fired up quick.
Cleaned carb, ran engine for few minutes then it died. no spark.
Have 6 volts AC at green wire from stator. What to check next?
ok, tried few random coils I had on my shelf, no luck. Pulled flywheel again, points still ok, found wire rubbing stator plate.
Ran new black kill switch wire with heat shrink where it passes through plate. IT RUNS!!
First drive in an AATV..... wild, fun, oh and bouncy! I'm looking into getting new shocks as soon as I can.
