Digital to Analog converters.. the things you'll need to view tv on your non HD tv's or ones without a digital tuner, if you're recieving tv via an antenna.. Starting in Feb '09.

I've read some forums and comparisons. The popular ones:

Zenith dtt 900 at Circuit City. Best to get an April '08 or later production date. Same for Insignia below.

Insignia (Best Buy zenith clone)

Digital Stream at Radio Shack. Good, not quite as prefered as the above 2. Ability to pull in far stations not quite as good.

Walmart rca and magnavox, not that great.

The government is giving away $40 coupons to each household toward a converter, prices average $50-$60.

Nod off to sleep reading 1000's of pages on anything video related here: AVS Forum

You will want to start using the converter right away, as the video and audio is a LOT better than analog tv signals. The signal can be better than the HD signal that cable or satelite delivers.

AntennaWeb will show you what stations are in your area and what kind of antenna you'll need. The AVS forum linked above, has a home made antenna forum for you guys with chicken wire laying around
