    Max II belt $33.99 shipped!!

Just a heads up for anyone looking for a outstanding deal on a new belt. I have a 1995 MaxII with a 14hp Vanguard. The machine has 102 hours on it and had the original "Recreatives Dayco 12525AA" belt on it. I decided to replace the belt because my top speed is only 15mph wide open with me and the wife on a flat road (17 downhill and 12-13 uphill) Well unfortunately the new belt did not increase my top end. Both driver clutch and driven clutch are opening and closing fine and the belt is tensioned right with about 1" deflection. I guess the 14hp motor is the culprit here. Any ideas or insight or is this just the way it is?

If anyone needs a new belt, this is the best deal around. The belt is $38.99 and if you sign up for the newsletter you get $5 off (free shipping too) The belt# is Dayco HP3003 and is the correct belt with 103 teeth and 1 3/16" wide. Here is a link for Sixity.com.

have you checked your engine RPM? Are you getting 4000rpm from the motor?

I have not checked the RPM's. I do not have a tachometer to check it. The motor does not sound like it is revving high at all. Wide open it sounds like maybe 3500 rpms. I think the governor is holding it back. I have very little experience with the Vanguard to be perfectly honest. I am a mechanic by trade and have worked on all kinds of engines, but this is the first Vanguard I have owned. I'll try to get a tach and see what it is doing. Thanks.
