For all the help I've found on this great site I would like to share something that worked for me. I read about alot of people having problems finding or affording a primary clutch for a bigger motor with a 1-1/8" shaft. I had my 1" 780 bored to 1-1/8" and it works awesome with my Vanguard 23. It's a bolt on and go. It matches the stock secondary and uses the same belt. Very easy and alot cheaper.
That's a great idea. I've cut keyway in old threaded Argo clutches but never bored a 780. I've had problems with the part they call the spider after pressing it off and reusing it. I drilled and pinned the last one that came loose as we couldn't get a new one. It's run for over 10 years now. Thanks for info.
