    Lube for Choke Cable

For those of you in the colddd area of the country, what is the best lube for a choke cable? I tried a silicone spray but this morning it was a hard pull. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks

I have found one of the best ways to lube a cable or door lock etc is with ATF.
Thin enough to penetrate and lubricate but not so thick as to gel up and become to stiff in the cold.
