    2020 Three wheel division / Dune Cycles/ Trikes

    1 Safety Rules
    A. Exhaust Systems
    1. The entire exhaust system must be contained within the confines of the vehicle or the engine guard.
    2. Exhaust tuners or stingers must have a washer or flange welded on the end of the Stinger the minimum outside diameter of the washer must be 3 in. The purpose of this is to prevent the Stinger from becoming a spear

    B.Gas Caps
    1. It is preferred that each vehicle has a locking gas cap.
    2. If a locking type cap is not available the cap must be secured by tape. The tape may be any color but it must be duct tape.

    C. Attachments.
    1. No wheelie bars or projections of any type will be permitted.

    D.Fuel Tanks
    1. The fuel tank must be adequately protected from damage resulting from Collision or a rollover.

    E.Kill Switch
    1. All vehicles must have a kill switch which automatically kills the engine if the writer leaves the vehicle. This type of Killswitch is required in four-wheeler three-wheeler an snowmobile racing. The most common type is a tether switch which fastens around the drivers wrist with quick disconnect plugs that plug into a socket on the handlebars.

    F.Torque Converter Safety Shields
    1. All vehicles must have torque converter covers.

    2. The cover must be designed to cover the top ,front ,rear, and side of both the drive and driven clutches.

    3. The converter cover must be a minimum of 1/8 inch thick mild steel or equivalent. No fiberglass or plastic Shield will be acceptable.

    G.Tires
    1. Tire chains are tires with metal projections will not be permitted in sanctioned competition.

    H.Brakes
    1. All three wheelers equipped with jackshaft brakes must have an additional brake which which applies braking Force directly to the rear axle.


    I. Apparel

    1. Helmets all rider are required to wear approved helmets
    2. All riders must wear long pants and long sleeve shirts loose fitting clothing is not recommended.
    3. A moto cross style boot is strongly recommended.
    4. All riders must wear approved eye protection googles or safety glasses.

    J.Number plates
    1. All race machines must have front and rear number plates with high visability numbers at least 6 inches tall.

    Competition Rules
    A. Four Cycle Stock Classes

    Class A 0 to 6.5 horsepower
    Class B 0 to 8 horsepower

    1. Governors may be disconnected.
    2. Any exhaust system will be permitted.
    3. Windshield air cleaners and headlights may be removed or altered All Glass headlights must be taped during competition.
    4. Maximum overbore 4-cylinder where or repair may not exceed .030 inches.
    5. Sprockets maybe changed to make any desired ratio.
    6. Any type production torque converter may be used.
    7. Any type of Tire offered by Vehicle Manufacturer will be permitted provider that does not have metal projections of any nature.


    B. Two Cycle Stock Classes

    Class C 0 to 230 cc Single Cylinder
    Class D 0 to 300 cc Single or Twin Cylinder

    1. Windshield air cleaners and headlights may be altered or removed all glass headlights must be taped up during competition.
    2. Maximum overbore for cylinder wear or repair may not exceed .030 inches
    3. Sprockets maybe changed to make any desired ratio.
    4. Any type production torque converter may be used.
    5. Any type of Tire offered by the Vehicle Manufacturer will be permitted provided it does not have metal projections of any type.

    C. Four Cycle Modified Classes
    Class MA 0 to 6.5 horsepower
    Class MB 0 to 8 horsepower

    1.Maximum overbore .030 inches
    2. No stroking permitted
    3. Any manufactured 4 cycle engine Factory rated at 5 horsepower or less is permitted in class MA
    4. Any manufactured 4-cycle engine Factory rated at 8 horsepower or less is permitted in class MB

    Two Cycle Modified Classes

    Class MC 0 to 240 cc Single Cylinder
    Class SM 0 to 360 cc
    Engine displacement is the total actual C.C. with no additional allowance for Overbore.
