I recently received a hand me down Attex 252 crazy colt that I grew up with. After sitting for all these years the key has been misplaced. Can I install a switch to bypass the key? If so what wires would I have to use.
I'm not sure if it would be the same style as in my Max ii, it's a 1975, but I can take pictures of mine after it's daylight and tell you where each wire goes. But you could easily install a momentary or toggle switch to start and kill it.
Mine is also a plain key like most lawn tractors and golf carts use, you could try using a key like that before getting into any wiring.
Red- POS.+
Black- ground-
Brown- magneto/coil kill wire
Yellow- switch solenoid wire
White - lights (shrink tubed with a yellow in pic)
Hopefully this is useful, like I said mines a max and I really don't know how many different key switches were used back then.
