heres my dilemma I recently restored a max 2 new vanguard motor bearings ect ect..I bought the heavier bands from r relics and the stock bolts where not long enough so I got the next size longer adjusted them usin the spacer tools.no the things finished already to go ….tranny wont move grrrr.if I put in reverse it will move back by puppling on the levers same in forward it will move by pulling on the levers .are these supposed to automatically move forward when in f gear by the spring preload???? obviously theres something wrong ..is it possible that I installed the bands backwards?/?

So you rebuilt and adjusted your trans, whether the machine has springs or not you must pull back to go rearward and push to go torward with no springs. Now spring preload, if you are talking internal band llad then No. But if you are talking the external springs holding pressure on the lower parts of the u channels hence holding sticks forward, than yes provided there is enough tension on them and thete is sufficent rpm to drive clutches.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

I see theres a left and right band does that mean that both lefts go on the left side or do they intermingle meaning the left and right are together on one side I think that's where my problem lies ty
